ISPE “Women in Pharma” Kick Off Local Initiative

Thank you to all the energetic volunteers and attendees who helped launch the Women in Pharma (WIP) group of the ISPE Boston Area Chapter by attending our inaugural event on Thursday, June 14. Our kick off was made extra special by our gracious host, law firm McDermott Will & Emery. Their generosity allowed us to use their conference room so we could enjoy the panoramic sunset views of Boston Harbor during our wine tasting and networking.  We would also like to thank our sponsors DPS, CRB, Astro Pak, Brammer Bio and Alexion for their contributions which were integral in making this event happen.

Fun was had by all during the Mingle Bingo game which got the group talking, networking, and sharing stories.  Congratulations to networking champion Grace Lee, our Mingle Bingo winner!  Grace’s completed Mingle Bingo card was drawn and she received a wine and summer themed prize basket.

During the event we held a break-out session to gain insight from attendees regarding the type of initiatives and events they would be most excited about being a part of in the future.  The feedback was great and a few general themes emerged, including that attendees would prefer high quality events less often (versus lots of events) and a mixture of education/career growth and social activities.

So what’s next for WIP?  The inaugural event planning team met this month to review all the feedback and start planning the group’s next event which will be held from 2:00-3:30pm during the Boston Area Chapter Product Show on Wednesday, September 26 at Gillette Stadium.  The agenda will include sharing the compiled feedback from the inaugural event’s break out groups as well as a guest speaker.  Keep an eye out for more information and plan to join us as even if you missed our kickoff event.
