First ISPE Boston Podcast Club a Success!

Last Wednesday we had our very first “Podcast Club” meeting. No, we didn’t just sit around with our earbuds in listening to our favorite podcasts…and I don’t think anyone was wearing a t-shirt of their favorite podcast host…
We did, however, have a great discussion about the future of the Pharma industry!
Kind of like a book club, but WAY easier…everyone listened to 2 podcast episodes: one about how facilities will be changing in the future given the landscape of the Pharma industry both in business and modalities, and the second about the appetite for digitization in the Pharma industry and how we are (or are not) making strides towards keeping up with many other industries. Links to both podcasts are at the end of this post.
I’ll be the first to admit, I had no idea how this was going to go. Have you ever been in a “podcast club”? I haven’t. What it turned into was a great discussion, lots of participation by everyone in the “room”, and a definite potential for more meetings like this. For those that weren’t there, and maybe had no idea what this was about, we came up with a few key questions based on the topic of the assigned podcasts that every had a chance to respond to and toss back and forth. A great variety of attendees and experiences leads to a pretty darn interesting conversation.
We’d love to do more in the future and think this could be a great way to learn and network at the same time. But here’s what we need:
- Suggestions for topics that people would like to discuss
- Suggestions for Podcasts/Episodes you think would be valuable
- People that might be interested in helping to lead a discussion (don’t need to be in charge…just part of planning)
- Feedback on when you think is the best time to do one of these hour long get togethers (morning/noon/night?)
What do you think? Want to do one? Comment here in the blog or on LinkedIn or send an email to office@ispeboston.org with your feedback.
