Question: What do you get when you combine the first gorgeous summer day, two loveable pups, nine vaccinated WIP members and a beautiful outdoor recreational area with trails, ponds, and trees?
Answer: A really good time!
On Wednesday June 9, the Boston Area Chapter’s Women in Pharma held their first WIP Walk. Nine WIP members showed up with water bottles in hand and strolled, strutted, sauntered, ambled, hiked, skipped, and even sashayed around Breakheart Reservation in Saugus. There was lots of laughing and discussion of other locales for walks yet to be planned. The walk was followed up by ice cream at JP Licks in Lynnfield Market place. All in all, it was the perfect way to enjoy WIP Boston’s first in-person event since the pandemic began last March and a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with old friends and meet new folks at the same time. We had Emily Brown from Lonza drive down from Portsmouth and Yolanda McLean from Alnylam come up from the South Shore to participate! Thank you to all who joined us: Brooke Cote, Beth Westcott, Jane Kepros, Lauren J. Matthews, Kathy Marini, Liana Murphy, Emily Brown and Yolanda McLean. And a very special thank you to our canine companions, Chubbs and Odin, who made the walk that much more fun!
We hope to do another WIP walk soon. If you would like to lead/coordinate/co-lead/ co-coordinate a WIP walk in an area near you, please let us know. You can reach out to us at office@Ispeboston.com. We would love to join you in promenading in a park near you!
