The ISPE EDEI (The Ethnocultural Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Committee hosted its second annual Juneteenth Celebration last Wednesday, June 19th at the Museum of African American History (MAAH) in Boston. This was much more than an Educational Program. There was a historian who not only spoke about the history of the museum but also about the history of Juneteenth and why the holiday is celebrated worldwide. Afterward, the group enjoyed a live concert live concert in the museum’s Sanctuary, and it was amazing! This Sanctuary is sacred because many great black leaders, like Frederick Douglass and Maria Stewart, held meetings and gave historical speeches in space. There were refreshments, light bites, and time for networking. Congratulations to our two raffle prize winners, Susan Gamboa and Jen Smith, who won an MAAH Membership and Dinner for 2 at Darryl’s Corner Kitchen and Bar, respectively. This event was not only educational but memorable!
Thank you to our Sponsors, AMI Polymer, The Hart Companies, IPS, R.W. Sullivan Engineering and SLAM for helping make this event possible. And thank you to the committee members who helped put together the event: Jack Campion, Lateffa Curry, Eric Felz, Susan Gamboa, Aaron Hubbell, Jane Kepros, Marissa Lemus-Reynoso, and Silas Tamufor!
