On Thursday May 18th, ISPE Boston Chapter teamed up with the Color of Biotech and one of Takeda’s Resource Groups – Black Leadership Council (BLC) to present ‘The Current State of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the pharmaceutical industry’ hosted at Takeda in Kendall Square. The event opened with networking and a wonderful view of Cambridge. The conversation was lively as people met one another for a standing room only event. The panel of Chris Haigh (Founder and Lead Consultant, True Change Associates), Ross Marshall (Head of Community Engagement, MassBio), Saraswathy (Sara) Nochur, PhD (Chief Diversity Equity & Inclusion Officer, Alnylam) and Ramona Burress (Head of Patient Engagement & Insights, Takeda) moderated by Amina Lobban (Head of Culture, Engagement & HR Business Excellence, Takeda) held attention-grabbing dialogue about their experiences in the pharma/biotech industries, their thoughts on the current status of DE&I around inside and outside of our industry and a charge to what we can do as individuals to continue the conversation. The combination of internal operating companies, consultants and industry leaders brought a broad spectrum of ideas to the discussion.
After the panel discussion, conversation continued to flow as people were energized and excited to continue networking and sharing their thoughts and ideas.
A special thank you to Takeda Black Leadership Council (BLC) and Color of Biotech for collaborating on a wildly successful event.
A special thank you to organizers Eni Adedokun El-Wadi, Eric Felz, Terah Benjamin, and Denise Barrant.
